William Staudacher

August 24, 1923 — March 23, 2011

Memorial services for William R. "Bill" Staudacher, 87, of Murray, will be held Sunday, March 27, 2011, at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary of the Murray First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rick Dye officiating. Visitation will also be held Sunday, from 1 p.m. until funeral hour at the church. Entombment will be Monday, March 28, in the chapel of the Murray Memorial Gardens.

Staudacher died Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at 11 a.m. at his home.

Born Aug. 24, 1923 in Marion, Ill., to the late Arch Lee and Ethel M. Staudacher, he was a member of the Murray First United Methodist Church serving on several committees and boards. He was also a member of the Rotary Club, American Heart Association, American Cancer Association and Chamber of Commerce. He was a retired executive of IBM after 31 years and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was also a graduate of Southern Illinois University where he earned his master's degree in Math and Physics.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mayme Nell Story Staudacher; and sister, Roberta McRay.

He is survived by his wife, Julie Staudacher of Murray; son, David Staudacher and wife, Allison of Canton, Conn.; two step-daughters, Nancy Greene and husband, William of Louisville, and Jennie Rottinghaus and husband, Tom of Murray; step-son, David Smith and wife, Carol of Murray; brother, Jim Staudacher and wife, Yvonne of Portage, Mich.; three grandchildren, Adam Staudacher, Christian Staudacher and Emma Staudacher; and step-grandson, David Smith; and mother-in-law, Sadie Nell West Fulton of Murray.
