Funeral services for William H. 'Bill' Halford, 82, of Murray are scheduled for 1 p.m. today, Friday, August 6, in the chapel of The J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Bro. Jim Simmons and Bro. Martin Severns will officiate. Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Mason Billington, Guy Cunningham, Randy Wilson, J.T. Lee, Gene Knight, and Mike Daniel.

Halford died Tuesday, August 03, 2010 at 8:30 p.m. at his home. He was a retired command sergeant of the United States Army after 26 years and was also a veteran of the Korean War. He also retired as personnel director for the Murray Calloway County Hospital after 13 years. He was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church and the Path Finder sunday school class.
He was born February 6, 1928 in Dyer Tennessee to the late Elbert A. and Leona Needham Halford. In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Ann Thompson Halford and brother, James A Halford. He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Thweatt and husband Joe Wayne of Murray, son, William A. (Bill) Halford of Benton, four grandchildren, Megan Thweatt of Brownsville, Tenn., Robin Thweatt of Murray, Matthew Halford of Benton, Cara O'Daniel of Benton.
