Mrs. Willa Dean Colson, 88, of Murray, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2019 at Baptist Health in Paducah.
Mrs. Colson was born on September 18, 1930 in Murray, KY to the late William and Pearl Stables Short. She was a faithful and loving nurse at Murray Calloway County Hospital for more than 30 years. Mrs. Willa Dean was a member of Women's Missionary Union or WMU, a member of Wadesboro Homemakers Club, committee member of Blood River Baptist Association and she served with her husband at New Providence Baptist Church. She was a member of Flint Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Odell Colson.
Those left to cherish the memory of Mrs. Colson include her daughters, Sharon Shaw (Paul) of Murray, Ginger Norsworthy (David) of Murray, Luana Barber (Ed) of Atlanta, GA; six grandchildren, Tony Childress, Deanna Childress, Bradley Norsworthy (Holly), Brent Norsworthy (Jennifer), Cole Barber, Daniel Shaw; eight great grandchildren, Matthew Childress, Morgan Childress, Jakob Norsworthy, Troy Vance, Jackson Norsworthy, Natalie Vance, Barrett Norsworthy, Ellie Norsworthy; several great great grandchildren, as well as beloved nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mrs. Colson is set for 1 PM on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at the Heritage Chapel of Imes Funeral Home, 1804 Highway 121 Bypass North, Murray. Glen Cope will officiate and burial will follow at Murray Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Tony Childress, Bradley Norsworthy, Brent Norsworthy, Cole Barber, Matthew Childress.
Her family will receive visitors from 10 AM - 1 PM on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at the Heritage Chapel.
