SANDRA HOTZ, 70, of Salem, IL died Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Carbondale, in the loving care of her family.
Born September 25, 1946 in Murray, KY, she was the daughter of James S. and Mavis (Cleaver) Carr who preceded her in death.
Sandy was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Salem. She was a tireless volunteer for the Republican Women's Central Committee, and proud of being a volunteer for Senator Kyle McCarter's congressional campaign. She loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart.
She married Karl J. Tilkens, November 11, 1967, and they later divorced. She then married Frank W. Hotz, March 26, 1991 and he preceded her in death February 2, 2017.
Surviving are her children, Eric James Tilkens, and wife Rachel of Seattle, WA, Karla Annette Blake, and husband Warren of Herrin, and Lindsay Nadeen Townsend, and husband Greg of Carbondale. Also step-children, Frank W. Hotz, Jr. and wife Cindy of Belton, TX, and Tanya Lyn Goodwin, and husband Bobby of Moody, TX., along with 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M., Monday, May 1, at the Rankin Chapel in Salem, with Rev. Larry Shelton officiating. Burial will take place at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday at the Murray Memorial Gardens, Murray, KY.
Visiting hours will be on Monday, from 11:00 A.M. until the service hour at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Emmanuel Baptist Church, or to the Donor's choice and accepted by the funeral home
