Ruth Williams

Mrs. Ruth Williams, 79, Lima, Ohio, formerly of Murray, died Sunday, May 23, 2010, at 3 a.m. at Spring View Manor, Lima. She was a member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Murray.
Born June 9, 1930, in Calloway County, she was the daughter of the late Buster Skinner Sr. and Canary Blanton Skinner. Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Mary Jane Skinner and Pat Johnson; two brothers, Ernestine and Robert Skinner; one granddaughter, Cindy Walker.
Survivors include five daughters, Norma Thomas and husband, Donnie Sr., and Ethel Thomas and husband, Jerry, all of Murray, Willie Nell Lester, Lima, Ohio, Linda Freeman, Paris, Tenn., and Frances Williams, Lexington; three sons, Phillip Williams, San Antonio, Texas, Thomas (Bo) Reed and wife, Earline, Columbus, Ohio, and Stephon Reed, Paris, Tenn.; two sisters, Mattie Skinner, New Haven, Conn., and Robbie Nell Brandon and husband, Bobby, Knoxville, Tenn.; one brother, Buster Skinner Jr. and wife, Barbara, sister-in-law, Virginia Skinner, and brother-in-law, Fred Johnson, all of Murray.
Survivors also include 13 grandchildren, Jeannette Williams, Lori Murrell and husband, Mark, Felicia Alfred and husband, Gene, Maurice, Donnie Jr., Melanie and Stacy Thomas, Keisha, Tabatha, Tasha and La Patra Reed, and Ashley and Karrie Lester; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three special daughters, Mary Sue Harris, Linda Gayle Bond and Cheryl London.
The funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Blalock-Coleman & York Funeral Home. Her son, Dr. Phillip Williams, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
