Pontiac, Ill. - Roy H. Ezell, 81, of Almo, Ky., died at 11:15 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, at Livingston Manor, Pontiac. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Duffy Funeral Home, Pontiac, the Rev. Jim Harkins officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Murray, Ky. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. He was born June 4, 1928, at Gadsden, Tenn., the son of Claud Dewey and Eva May (Norville) Ezell. He married Sara Mayfield July 28, 1945, in Acorn County, Miss. She passed on March 7, 2004. Surviving are one daughter, Julia Kay (Ron) Tisdale-Strickland, Pontiac; one brother, James F. Ezell, Apollo Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren, Roy (Kelly) Tisdale, Brian (Tammy) Ezell, April (Jon) Pomerantz, Lori (Ken) McGraw and Charlene Tisdale; and one granddaugher-in-law, Gina Doggett. Mr. Ezell was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, James Ezell; two grandsons, John Tisdale and Mark Ezell; and two brothers during childhood. He was educated in Crockett County, Tennessee. Mr. Ezel had been employed as a machine repairman with the Ford Motor Co. He was of the Baptist faith.
