Rob Erwin
The funeral for Rob R. Erwin was held Sunday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Hollis Miller and Charley Bazzell officiated. Burial was in the Murray Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Ben Parker, Chuck Parker, Charles "Puff" Parker, Ricky Paschall, Scott Gray and Bucky Erwin.
Mr. Erwin, 81, Hub Erwin Road, Hazel, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009 at 4:35 a.m. at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, Mo. An Air Force veteran, he was co-owner of Erwin's 641 Slaughter House. After retiring he farmed and spent time traveling. He was a member of University Church of Christ, Murray. Born July 4, 1928, in Calloway County, he was the son of the late Hub Erwin and Eva Bazzell Erwin. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Judy Parker, and one brother, Joe Tom Erwin.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Erwin, to whom he was married May 8, 1949 in Calloway County; one daughter, Teesa Lilly and husband, Larry, Hazel; one son, Tim Erwin and wife, Amie, Fancy Farm; two sisters, Mary Frank Paschall and Diane Erwin, both of Murray; one brother, Billy Max Erwin and wife, Gerry, and brother-in-law, Charles (Puff) Parker, all of Hazel; five grandchildren, Mitch and Mason Lilly, and Melanie, Matt and Sydney Erwin; three great-grandchildren, Alex, Tyler and Sadie Lilly.
