Richard Douglas
BENTON, Ky. - Richard N. Douglas, 82, of Benton died at 3:14 a.m. Monday at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.
He was the owner and operator of Cedar Knob Resort in Benton for more than 50 years. He was a charter member of the Kentucky Lake Vacation Land Association, Marshall County Chamber of Commerce, Marshall County Tourism Commission and Kentucky Lake Fishing Derby. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Murray.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Carter Douglas; one daughter, Marcia Tomasiello of Benton; one son, Richard C. Douglas of Lexington, and one sister, Anna Bell Guth of Mokena, Ill.
His parents were Harry Richard Douglas and Lucetta Nelson Douglas.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Collier Funeral Home in Benton, with the Rev. Chad Foster officiating. Interment will follow in Murray Memorial Gardens.
