Reuben Chrisman
Reuben Chrisman, 89, Hazel, died Friday, April 17, 2009, at 6:23 p.m. at Murray-Calloway County Hospital.
Retired from Ryan Milk Company, he was also a farmer. He was a member of Mason's Chapel United Methodist Church and was in the Adult Sunday School class. He had served as an Army staff sergeant with the 19th Infantry in World War II. Born July 9, 1919, in Hazel, he was the son of the late Holly Boyd and Alma Housden Chrisman. Also preceding him in death were three sisters, Olalia Underwood, Delma Trotter, Dathal Chrisman and Alma Chrisman; four brothers, Orin, Noel, Treman and H.B. Chrisman.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Underwood Chrisman to whom he was married May 24, 1946 in Hazel; one daughter, Bonita Dunavant and husband, Ray, Millington, Tenn.; two sons, Larry Chrisman and wife, Peggy, Hazel, and Roger Chrisman and wife, Lisa, Murray; sister-in-law, Betty Chrisman, Braden, Fla.; six grandchildren, Adrienne Short, Millington, Tenn., Megan, Kelly and Sam Chrisman, Hazel, and Chase and Emily Chrisman, Murray; two great-grandchildren, Katie Grace Short, Millington, and Steven Thomas, Hazel.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Rev. Alan Trull and Rev. David Hollis will officiate. Burial will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. today (Monday).
