Mrs. Sue Morton, 89, of 1408 Diuguid Dr., Murray, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at 11:35 a.m. at her home. She was a longtime member of Memorial Baptist Church and had retired from IGA and later from The Cherry Branch. She was married November 23, 1940 to Joe Morton who died July 25, 1985. Born August 19, 1920, in Weakley County, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Corbitt and Zelma Fields Rickman. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Hayden, Robert and Johnny Rickman. Survivors include two daughters, Suzanne Stover who made her home with and was a caregiver to Mrs. Morton, and Alice Emerine and husband, Ralph, of Murray. Mrs. Morton was blessed to have five grandsons, Tony Bybee, Martin, Tenn., Christopher Parker, Union City, Tenn., Mike Mayfield and wife, Patty, Almo, Marc Mayfield and wife, Kay, Fort Worth, Texas, and Gary Emerine, Murray; and two granddaughters, Sharie Lewis, Memphis, Tenn., and Rebecca Geurin and husband, Robert, Murray. She was also fortunate to have nine great-grandchildren who so lovingly called her "Momma Sue." They are Leslie Fitzhugh and husband, Patrick, St. Charles, Mo., Zach and Kaci Mayfield, Fort Worth, Texas, Jalyn Parker, Union City, Tenn., and Shawn Mayfield, Gregory Boggess, Ethan and Luke Emerine and Kaylee Geurin, all of Murray. Also survivors include a loving sister, Jessie Davis, Murray; brother, Tommy Rickman, Lexington; two sisters-in-law, Sylvia Rickman and Eulala Morton; a host of nieces and nephews; a very special great-niece, Alyssa Lamb, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Lamb.
