Mrs. Marilyn C. Hornback, age 70, of Murray, Kentucky, died Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Spring Creek Healthcare in Murray, Kentucky.
Mrs. Hornback was born May 26, 1947 in Fulton, Kentucky to the late Leon Charlton and Lucille Owen Charlton. Marilyn attended Murray State University and was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. She received her bachelor's Degree in Speech Pathology and a master's Degree in early childhood education. She served as a Speech Pathologist in the Fulton County and Larue County schools. She also served as Director of Practicum for the Murray State University Department of Speech and Hearing and was Director of the Murray Headstart program upon her retirement. She was also member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Dave Hornback of Murray, Kentucky, they married June 23, 1967 in Wingo, Kentucky; one daughter, Kristen Riggs and husband Taylor of Franklin, Tennessee; one son, Michael Hornback and wife Kristin of Lexington, Kentucky; one sister, Sue Roberts and husband Gail of Dukedom, Kentucky; one brother, Donnie Charlton and wife Jane of Wingo, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Jackson Riggs, Ainsleigh Riggs, Cooper Riggs and Duncan Hornback.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 27, 2018 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Rev. Samantha Hall will officiate, and entombment will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home.
