Mrs. Margaret Owens, 87, of Murray, died Friday, March 4, 2011, at 11:40 a.m. at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital.
She was a retired Graphic Arts Technician and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She was born Dec. 21, 1923 in Rehoboth, N.M., to the late Harry Denton and Dora Elizabeth Baker Boyd. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Duane W. Owens; two sisters, Donna Cousins and Evelyn Olsen; two brothers, Jack Boyd and Harry D. Boyd Jr.
She is survived by two sons, Steven Owens and wife, Phyllis of Almo, James Owens and wife, Kathy of Cortland, N.Y.; two sisters, Patricia Nysteadt of Santa Fe, N.M. and Anna Grace Whitesinger of Chinle, Ariz.; two brothers, Robert Boyd of Belen, N.M., and Roger Boyd of Washington, D.C.; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Services were held today, Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. The Rev. Kerry Lambert officiated and burial followed in the Murray Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers were her grandsons.
Visitation was held Tuesday, March 8, 2011, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
