Mrs. Lucy Strader Tidwell, 90, of Murray, died at 8:25 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, 2009 at Spring Creek Health Care.
She was a member of Mason's Chapel United Methodist Church and retired from Murray State University Food Services.
Born September 30, 1918 in Calloway County, Tidwell was the daughter of the late Tom and Annie (Steele) Tidwell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph H. Tidwell, who died Aug. 25, 1975. The couple were married November 7., 1936. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ola Starks and Francis Wilson and one brother, Leland Strader.
She is survived by her son, Sammy Tidwell and his wife, Barbara, one grandson, Mitch Tidwell, two step-grandchildren, Harrison and Charlie Weatherly and two great grandchildren, Haley and Ethan Tidwell; all of Murray. She is also survived by two step-sons, Harry Weatherly and his wife, Kim, of Atlanta, Ga. and Robert Weatherly of Connecticut.
The funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 10 at Blalock-Coleman & York Funeral Home in Murray. The Rev. Alan Trull will officiate. Burial will follow at Murray Memorial Gardens.
