Linda Emerson Story, 70, of Murray, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010, at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital following a long battle with cancer.
A graduate of Kirksey High School as Valedictorian, she was a Division Director for Stanley Home Products for more than 30 years. Story was a member of West Fork Baptist Church for 60 years, where she taught Sunday School and Bible School.
Story was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Edd Emerson; a brother, Ted Lawson; parents, Lynn and Birdie Adams Lawson; and an aunt, Maudena Butterworth.
Survivors include her husband, Tommy Dan Story; two daughters, Debbie Carter (Jim) and Missy Cochran (Chad); a brother, Merritt Lawson; a sister, Wanda Butler; two sisters-in-law, Mary Lawson and Sue Emerson; four grandchildren, Amanda Carter, Austin Carter, Hannah Cochran and Hunter Cochran, all of Murray; three step-sons, Greg Story (Karen), Gary Story (Kim) and Shane Story, all of Puryear; a step-daughter, Vanessa Eckles (Daniel) of Murray; six step-grandchildren, Isiah Story, Autumn Barker, Charlton Story, Adam Eckles, Taylor Story and Daniel Story; mother-in-law, Pauline Story; and two step-sisters-in-law, Peggy Doddard (Dick) and Carolyn Outland (Danny).
Services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 24, at 1 p.m., at Heritage Family Funeral Home with Rev. Matthew Williams and Rev. Wayne Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Murray Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive visitors today, Monday, Aug. 23, between the hours of 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
