Lamon Lee King, 76, of Benton, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, the T.L. Jefferson Masonic Lodge #622, and was a Kentucky Colonel. He retired from Westinghouse where he was employed as an Advisory Engineer, and received his Masters in Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ruth (Harp) King; and father, Leland King.
He is survived by one daughter, Anetra King of Lancaster, S.C.; one sister, Gwen Rodrigues of Clearwater, Fla.; one brother, Damon King of Macon, Ga.; and nephew, E.V. King of Nashville, Tenn.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at 1 p.m. at Collier Funeral Chapel with the Revs. David Atkinson and Marvin Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 5, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund or Food Pantry, 845 U.S. Hwy. 641 Spur, Benton, KY 42025. Arrangements are handled by Collier Funeral Home in Benton.
