BENTON, Ky. - Joe Pat Bryant, 71, of Benton died Friday, May 22, 2009, at 12:27 a.m. at Murray-Calloway County Hospital.
He was a member of the Hope Harbor Church. He served in the U.S. Army and was retired from General Tire.
He was the son of the late Homer Bryant and the late Lela (Nanney) Bryant.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores (Kubinski) Bryant. Also surviving are three daughters, Pamela Marie Thweatt of Benton, Sheree Lynn Rogers of White House, Tenn., and Debra Ann Bolen of Benton; four sons, Richard "Toby" Bryant of Vienna, Ill., David Allen Bryant of Murray, Christopher James Bryant of Benton and Mark Anthony Bryant of Benton. Mr. Bryant is also survived by eight grandchildren, Brian Thweatt of Benton, Ashley Irvan of White House, Brandi Bolen Downing of Benton, Larisa Johnston of Murray, Chase Bryant of Murray, Blake Rogers of White House, Sydney Bryant of Paducah, and Jordan Bryant of Vienna; one stepgrandchild, Amanda Adamson of Carbondale, Ill.; two great-grandchildren, Olivia Thweatt and Amelia Thweatt, both of Benton; and two sisters, Judy Davis and Jean Sasser, both of Michigan.
Mr. Bryant was preceded in death by two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at Collier Funeral Chapel in Benton on Sunday, May 24, 2009, at 2 p.m. The Rev. James Stom will officiate. Interment will be at Murray Memorial Gardens.
