J.C. Schroader, 84, Dexter, died Saturday, May 1, 2010, at 3:30 a.m. at his home after an extended illness. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Independence United Methodist Church and of Temple Hill Lodge 276 of Free and Accepted Masons. Born April 9, 1926 in Calloway County, he was the son of the late Clyde and Vieler Mitts Schroader. He is survived by his wife, Reba Dell Hopkins Schroader, to whom he was married March 6, 1948 in Paducah; one daughter, Joann Schroader, Almo; one son, Ronnie J. Schroader and wife, Elaine, Dexter; one sister, Dorothy Kirks, Murray; two grandchildren, Jeffery Dale Schroader and Eric Schroader, Dexter; three great-grandchildren, Rikki Nichole, Jake and Dillion Schroader; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Mindy Cone, and Bryan and Brittany Fulton. The funeral service will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Rev. Howard Welch and Rev. Kendrick Lewis will officiate. Burial will follow in the Murray Memorial gardens.
