Mr. Jamie Scott, 35, of Oak Grove Road, Benton, died at 8:25 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 1, 2010 at Lourdes Hospital.
An employee of Morningstar Foods in Murray, he was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and a member of Damascus Sunday School Class. He was a 1993 graduate of Calloway County High School. He was born in Murray on March 12, 1974, the son of Stan and Paulette Scott of Kirksey, who survive.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Eula Nance. He is also survived by his wife, Lori B. Scott of Benton, four daughters, Brittany Scott, Katie Scott, Hailey Tubbs, and Erin Tubbs, all of Benton; one brother, Joey Scott and his wife, Chanda, of Kirksey; his grandmother, Mavis Stone of Kirksey, grandfather, James F. Scott of Murray; several nieces and nephews: Adyson, Garrett and Briley Scott of Kirksey; C.J. and Chase Bright of Gilbertsville, Ky.; Caleb, Nate, and Micah Wyatt of Murray; father and mother-in-law, Glenn and Carla of Hardin, Ky; several aunts and uncles. The funeral is set for 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 5 at First Baptist Church in Murray with the Rev. Martin Severns officiating. Burial will follow at Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation has been set from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Monday, Jan. 4, at the church. J.H. Churchill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
