Mrs. Glada Joy Buchanan age 88, of Murray, Kentucky, died Saturday, January 30, 2016 at North Crest Medical Center in Springfield, Tennessee.

Mrs. Buchanan was born October 5, 1927 in Portia, Arkansas, to the late Lawrence King and Lacey Gertie King. She was a housewife, mother, and grandmother to five grandchildren, David Lamb, Scott Buchanan, Christina Buchanan Mathis, Jennifer Lamb Holder, and Kenneth Buchanan; ten great grandchildren, Caleb Egli, Lacy Egli, Darian McCallister, Tristan McCallister, Kenan Buchanan, Kara Buchanan, Caitlyn Buchanan, Lauren Buchanan, Lexi Lamb, and Daphne Lamb; and two great- great grandchildren, Ryder Egli and Remington Egli; as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Buchanan was a member of the Glendale Road Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Allen Buchanan; a brother, Raymond King; two sisters Irma Hickman and Imogene Manes; one daughter-in-law, Nancy Buchanan; and one grandson, Kenneth Buchanan.

Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Lamb and husband Wayne of Pleasant View, Tennessee; one son, Larry Allen Buchanan of Murray, Kentucky; two sisters, Inez Weld of Burlington, Iowa and MaryAnn Smiley of Olive Branch, Mississippi; and one brother, Redmon King of Pocahontas, Arkansas.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the J.H Churchill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Murray Memorial Gardens. Funeral services to be conducted by John Dale and Garry Evans. Pallbearers will be David Lamb, Scott Buchanan, Darian McCallister, Tristan McCallister, Kenan Buchanan, and Caleb Egli.

Glada's family hopes everyone will remember her for her faith, love and devotion to the Lord.
