The funeral for Mrs. Emma Jean Franks will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Blalock-Coleman & York Funeral Home. Rev. Richard Edmiston will officiate. Pallbearers will be Terry Blackburn, Este Yancy, Mac Westbay, Chris Rose, Jim Lowe, Mark Ellis and Denis Barton. Burial will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Franks, 71, Murray, died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at 1:15 p.m. at her home.
She was married Sept. 17, 1968, to James Louis Franks who died April 20, 2006. Born April 29, 1938 in Dyersburg, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Ed Kirk and Elizabeth Walton Riley. Also preceding her in death were one sister, Shelia Shawver, and five brothers, Tom, Paul Ed and Morris Kirk, and James Herbert and Quinton Eugene Riley.
Survivors include one daughter, Teresa Ann (Lisa) Gibson, Finley, Tenn.; two stepdaughters, Penny Hatley, Halls, Tenn., and Tammy Faye Ladd and husband, Jeff, Newbern, Tenn.; two stepsons, James Louis Franks Jr. and wife, Kellie, and Tony Michael Franks and wife, Michelle, all of Churchton, Tenn.; one sister, Mary Jane Riley, Newbern, Tenn.; one brother, Ernest Riley Sr. and wife, Annie, Murray; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
