Elmo Thornton

Mr. Elmo Thornton, age 73, of Murray, Kentucky died on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Baptist Health Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.
Mr. Thornton was born February 15, 1944 in Calloway County, Kentucky to the late Robert Eugene Thornton and Louise Evans Thornton. Mr. Thornton was the owner and operator of Thornton Masonry. He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Murray Masonic Lodge F&AM, Shriner Rizpah Temple, Eastern Star, and C.H.A. 3 Kenpo Brotherhood.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by and infant son Billy Joe Thornton.
Survivors include one daughter, Tammy Thornton, Murray Kentucky, one son, Timmy Thornton, Murray, Kentucky, one sister Ramona Mileham of Murray, Kentucky, two brothers Joe Thornton and wife Marilyn of Murray, Kentucky and Ronnie Carroll and wife Glenda of Murray, Kentucky, three grandchildren, Elizabeth Yuen, Savannah Thornton and Ashlynn Thornton, two great grandchildren, Macey Mae Yuen and Kash Thornton, also a special friend, Martha Fisher.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, Pastor Clint McCoy will officiate, and Entombment will follow in Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5-8 P.M. Friday, October 13, 2017 at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home, Masonic Rites will be held at 6 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
