Dr. Clyde Thomas "Tommy" Stambaugh, 69, of Murray, peacefully went to meet his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at his home.
Tommy was born on January 20, 1949 in Nippa, KY. Dr. Stambaugh proudly served his country in the United States Army and is a Vietnam Veteran. He earned a PhD in Business Administration. He taught 31 years at Murray State University, University of Kentucky and Morehead State University. In addition, he was also a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Stambaugh was of Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Stambaugh and a brother, James Albert Stambaugh.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Virginia Lee "Jenny" Stambaugh to whom he married on September 8, 1969; his mother, Deloris Ann VanHoose Stambaugh of Murray; a son, Greg Webb (Loretta) of Murray; two daughters, Michelle Ashcraft (Dwayne) of Murray and Melony Morgan (Derek) of Murray; two brothers, Charles Donald Stambaugh (Zella) Tupelo, MS and Joseph Sean Stambaugh (Amy) of Paintsville, KY; two sisters, Dianna Rose Lynch (John) of Grayson, KY and Shelby Jean Coleman (Willard) of Stambaugh, KY; eight grandchildren, Samantha, Zachary, Coral, Caroline, Brooke, Jacob, Joe, Justin and four great grandchildren, Noelle, John, Ainslee and Christian.
The funeral service honoring Mr. Stambaugh is set for 11 AM on Saturday, July 7, 2018 the Heritage Chapel of Imes Funeral Home, 1804 Highway 121 Bypass North, Murray. Ricky Cunningham will officiate and burial will follow in Murray Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers include, Dwayne Ashcraft, Zack Ashcraft, Derek Morgan, Chuck Stambaugh, Sean Stambaugh and Coral Bray.
His family will receive visitors from 5-7 PM on Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Heritage Chapel.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Anna Mae Owen Hospice House/Endowment for Healthcare, 803 Poplar Street, Murray.
The Heritage Chapel of Imes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
