Dorval Hendon

Mrs. Dorval Hendon, 87, of Murray, died Monday, May 9, 2011, at 9:25 a.m. at Spring Creek Health Care in Murray.

Mrs. Hendon was born in Winchester, Ind., on April 19, 1924 to the late Harold Fields and Bessie Rowe Fields. Mrs. Hendon was a retired registered nurse, while working at the Murray-Calloway County Hospital and retiring with the Calloway County Health Department. Mrs. Hendon also served with the Army Nurse Corp. during World War II. Mrs. Hendon was a member of the Glendale Road Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hendon was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.

Mrs. Hendon is survived by one daughter, Marsha Dale and husband, John of Murray; one son, Billy Hendon and wife, Barbara of Murray; four grandchildren, Karen Weatherly and husband, David of Paris, Tenn., Mike Dale of Clarksville, Tenn., Billy Joe Hendon and wife, Hannah of Murray, and Cassie Hendon of Murray; two great-grandchildren, Luke and James Weatherly, both of Paris, Tenn.; as well as a sister-in-law, Rachel Hendon of Murray.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at 10 a.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with John Dale officiating. Burial to follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. tonight, Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the funeral home.
