Mrs. Dorothy Mae “Dot” Bailey, 90, of Murray, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019, at Spring Creek Nursing Home in Murray.
Mrs. Bailey was born on January 22, 1929 in Calloway County to the late Carlos and Lucille Hargrove Roberts. She grew up in the Almo community and was a lifetime member of Flint Baptist Church. She married Martin Bailey, Jr. on December 10, 1949, in Corinth, Mississippi, and they had three children. Dot loved being a housewife and mother.
She is survived by two sons, Don Martin Bailey and wife, Jane of Conway, SC, and Steve Alan Bailey and wife, Karen of Murray; one daughter, Lori Ann Potts and husband, Jimmy of Murray; six grandchildren, Brad Bailey, Sara Bailey, Tiffany Bailey, Becky Hayden, Kala Potts, Wesley Potts; seven great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister, Rebecca Cunningham and husband, Richard of Arizona; two nieces, Mary Kay Smith, Linda Gosche; special friends, Nell Wiggins, Emma Rushing; special caregivers, Teresa Miles, Kim Smith and Dana Trousdale.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Junior; two brothers, Mark and James Roberts, and one sister, Margaret Howard.
The funeral service is set for 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Heritage Chapel of Imes Funeral Home, 1804 Highway 121 Bypass North, Murray. Ricky Miller will officiate and burial will follow in Murray Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers include, Joe Dan Taylor, Kenny Overbey, Donnie Overbey, Billy Overbey, Wesley Potts, Justin Goolsby.
Her family welcomes visitors from 9 am - 11 am on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Heritage Chapel.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Anna Mae Owen Residential Hospice House, 803 Poplar Street, Murray, KY 42071.
The family has entrusted the Heritage Chapel of Imes Funeral Home with arrangements.
