A memorial service for Clyde Turner, 86, of Murray, will be held today, Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Murray Memorial Gardens.
Turner died Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, at Spring Creek Health Care.
Born in Golden Pond in 1924, Turner served his country in Japan and Europe as a World War II Army Staff Sergeant and worked in instrument maintenance for 34 years at B.F. Goodrich until his retirement. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, John B. and Mamie Ray Sears Turner, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Turner, earlier this year; a son, Terry Ray Turner; a brother, Thomas Earl Turner; a sister, Vivian Ray Pollard; and one grandchild, Chip Turner.
Turner is survived by two sons, Larry Turner and wife, Brenda, and Lanny Joe Turner and wife, Gail of Murray; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
