MAYFIELD, Ky. - Claretta C. Newport, 74, of Mayfield died Wednesday at Heritage Manor Healthcare in Mayfield.
She was retired from Murray State University physical plant. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Mayfield.
Mrs. Newport is survived by a son, Gary Newport of Mayfield; a sister, Janet Duncan, of Columbus, Ohio; two grandsons, Geoffrey Newport and Robert Wood, both of Mayfield; and two granddaughters, Tracey Newport and Katie Newport, both of Mayfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Brent Humphreys Newport; and one brother. Her parents were Orin and Nola Craig Chrisman.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, at Imes-Miller Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Murray Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
