Mrs. Carolyn Ann Halford, 79, of Murray, died Friday, April 30, 2010, at 11:25 p.m. at the Spring Creek Health Care in Murray.
She was a retired Multiple Listing Service secretary for the Murray Board of Realtors for 10+ years, and was a member of the Memorial Baptist Church and the Winsome Sunday School class. She was a graduate of Memphis State University with a B.S. Degree, was a charter member of Murray Quilt Lovers and American Quilters Society.
Born May 29, 1930 in Dyer, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Cecil Howard and Flossie M. Webb Thompson. One brother, Charles Thompson, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, William (Bill) Halford, to whom she was married May 17, 1953 in Dyer, Tenn.; one daughter, Kathy Thweatt and husband, Joe Wayne, Murray; one son, Bill Halford and wife, Cindy, Benton; four grandchildren, Megan Thweatt, Brownsville, Tenn., Robin Thweatt, Murray, and Matt Halford and Cara O'Daniel, both of Benton.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Dr. Jim Simmons and Bro. Martin Severns will officiate. Burial will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home today (Monday) from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
