BROOKPORT, Ill. - Services for Billie Joe Smith, 81, of Brookport will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Murray Memorial Gardens Chapel in Murray, Ky. with Andy Claussen officiating.
Mr. Smith died at 11:30 p.m. Saturday at his home.
He was retired from Electrical Energy Incorporated in Joppa, a U.S. Army World War II veteran and of the Church of Christ faith.
Surviving are his wife, Glenna Edwards Smith; one daughter, Gaila Gay of Mayfield, Ky.; one son, Stephen Smith of Paducah, Ky.; four grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; two great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandson.
He was preceded in death by one brother. His parents were Gaylon "Brownie" Smith and Retha Clark Smith.
There will be no visitation. Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home in Benton, Ky. is in charge of arrangements.
