Mrs. Betty McPhail, age 84, of Murray, Kentucky died at 10:03am Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at her residence.

Mrs. McPhail was born May 24, 1935 in Calloway County, Kentucky to the late Jess Hale and Mary Andrus Hale.  She was a cook at the East Elementary School and attended North Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leonard McPhail; sister, Louella Hale; and brother, Don Hale.

She is survived by her son, Robert McPhail, Dexter; daughters, Debra Alexander (Steve), Morris, Illinois and Jeanette Rich, Murray; brothers, Jimmy Hale (Robbie), Hazel, Bonnia Hale, Plant City, Florida, and Jackie Hale, Hazel; sister in law, Bonnie Hale, Murray; eight grandchildren, Heather Hunter, Amy Bischoff, Brenda Gerber, Jana Rich, Julie Barlow, Lydia Porter, Christina Alexander, and Nathan McPhail; and nine great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be at 1:00pm Thursday, June 6, 2019 at the Murray Memorial Gardens with Rev. Sammy Cunningham officiating.  Friends may visit the family from 11:00am to 12:30pm Thursday at the Blalock-Coleman & York Funeral Home.
