Becky Travis (Miss Becky), 91, of Murray, Ky., died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Spring Creek Health Care.
She was born July 6, 1921, in Fredonia to the late Steve MiIler Jones and Anna Cash Jones. Miss Becky was a caregiver to many. She loved children and taught first grade Sunday School at First Baptist Church for 57 years.
Miss Becky lived the remainder of her years at Spring Creek Health Care where she was called "High Tech Momma" due to her computer skills. She was loved and well cared for by all the staff there.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Travis was preceded in death by her husband, Bay Travis.
Mrs. Travis is survived by two children, Carol Neale and husband, Jerry, of Huntsville, Ala., and Barry Travis, of Murray; five grandchildren, Michelle Putman and husband, John, Todd Neale, Valerie Whatley and husband, Chuck, Trent Travis and wife, Kela and Trey Travis; five great-grandchildren, Hayley Sanderson, Ethan Sanderson, Ella Whatley, Hannah Whatley and Nash Travis; also survived by her very special "guardian angel" Anita Thornton.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with the Rev. Kerry Lambert and the Rev. Boyd Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 4 - 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at the funeral home.
