Mrs. Anna Marie Burchett Mathes
The funeral for Mrs. Anna Marie Burchett Mathes will be Monday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. John Dale will officiate. Burial will follow in the Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
Mrs. Mathes, 81, Rockwood Road, Murray, died Thursday, July 16, 2009, at 8:25 p.m. at Murray-Calloway County Hospital.
A homemaker, she was a member of Glendale Road Church of Christ. Preceding her in death were her husband, Milford Mathes, and one sister, Helen Kommer. Born Oct. 8, 1927, in McCracken County, she was the daughter of the late Noah Burchett and Carrie Annie Kortz Burchett.
Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl Elkins and husband, Charles, New Concord, Charlotte Cook and husband, Ronnie, Murray, and Barbara Eber and husband, Marc, Melbourne, Fla.; four grandchildren, Brian Provine and wife, Kristy, and Christopher Provine and wife, Dean Ann, all of Hazel, Micheal Elkins and wife, Alisha, Murray, and Rebecca Anna Marie Mayo, Melborne; one stepgranddaughter, Christy Cook, Tennessee; four great-grandchildren, Bailey, Karlyn and Preston Provine and Layton Elkins; one brother, Fred Burchett and wife, Mary, Paducah; one sister-in-law, Wilma Lyles, Murray; one brother-in-law, Jim Kommer, Paducah.
